Our story
Tissue Biosciences was founded on a simple conviction: the most information-dense biological signal in drug discovery is locked inside tissue — and the tools, services, and infrastructure to unlock it are years behind where they need to be.
The vision
Pathology generates some of the richest biological signal in drug discovery. Most of it is completely inaccessible to AI. Inconsistent annotations. Proprietary formats. Reports designed for human eyes, not model training. The field is sitting on an enormous asset it hasn't figured out how to unlock — and the services infrastructure around pathology hasn't helped.
We offer expert pathology consultation and quantitative image analysis for drug discovery and preclinical teams — fast turnarounds, transparent pricing, and scientific partnership that actually means something. And we're developing model-ready annotated image datasets to start closing the gap between pathology data and the AI tools that need it.
The goal is simple: make exceptional pathology services accessible, and make the data those services generate actually useful.
The team
Stephen Morreale
Founder & CEO
Strategic commercial leader with nearly a decade of experience building the infrastructure life sciences companies need to grow. Career spans digital pathology, preclinical CRO services, and rare disease — operating at the intersection of science and strategy, translating scientific complexity into market strategy, competitive positioning, and revenue.
Brings direct experience growing a commercial book of business from the ground up with consistent year-over-year growth, serving named biopharma accounts across oncology, immunology, and rare disease. Has assisted companies in commercial infrastructure development in preparation for Series A fundraising. Holds a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with honors from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Jack Wilson
Co-Founder, Commercial
Commercial leader working at the intersection of translational research, histopathology, and biospecimen-derived data. Jack's background spans wet-lab neuroscience, clinical diagnostics, gene delivery, and CRO and biospecimen infrastructure — giving him a rare ability to navigate both the technical and operational sides of translational workflows.
His work is focused on a problem that quietly undermines drug discovery: biospecimens that are technically collected but scientifically unusable downstream due to missing or inconsistent metadata, poor annotation, or broken study continuity.
